The best FiveM anticheat for roleplay servers protects the events your economy runs on, gives staff evidence before a ban, rarely flags innocent regulars, blocks known ban evaders at connect and keeps scenes running through crashers.

This page ranks no products; it turns roleplay risks into a checklist. If detection is new to you, start with how a FiveM anticheat detects cheats, because every item below assumes you know what detection can see. When the checklist is done, test products against it in our best FiveM anticheat comparison, or score vendors with the 2026 scorecard.

One thing up front: no FiveM anti cheat replaces the validation inside your own money and item handlers. The Cfx.re server security guide says as much: "The anti-cheat team is always trying to improve the anti-cheat, but sometimes things slip through."

What a roleplay server needs from a FiveM anticheat

A cheater on a PvP or freeroam server usually spoils a round. On a roleplay server the damage can reach a saved economy, a trusted regular or a long scene, so different features deserve weight:

Roleplay riskWhy RP servers feel it moreWhat to look for in an anticheat
Money and item duplication through abused server eventsMoney, items and vehicles are saved to a database, so exploited value stays in the economy after the cheater leavesEvent trigger protection, weapon and vehicle spawn blocking, script whitelists and logs you can act on - plus your own server-side checks
Wrongly banning a whitelisted regularThe player invested an application, a character history and storylines other players shareEvidence captured before action, whitelists for legitimate scripts and coordinates, a visible appeal path and a vendor that publishes its false-ban fixes
Banned players re-applying under a new identityThe whitelist application becomes the way back inHardware and multi-identifier bans, cross-server ban data checked at connect and a way for staff to research an applicant
Staff decisions questioned by the communityWhitelist communities run on trust in staffDetection logs, screenshots, activity logs, Discord alerts and a player history staff can show
Staff tools that look like cheatsStaff use noclip, god mode and spectate during live scenesPermission-based exemptions tied to your ACE setup
Crashers, explosion spam and entity spam mid-sceneLong scenes keep many players in one place for a long timeCrasher, explosion and entity controls, plus the server convars and handlers you own

Can a FiveM anticheat protect a roleplay economy from money and item exploits?

Partly. The Cfx.re guide warns that "Cheats can allow the client to trigger events in any context" and that adding checks on server events helps, "although it doesn't prevent everything." An anticheat can make abused triggers harder to fire and flag the attempt, but only your script knows which job, location and amount make a payout legitimate.

For every money, item or vehicle handler, that guide's advice reduces to:

  • Read money, inventory, position and permissions server-side: "Make sure to retrieve all values using server-side methods, not allowing players to change the values."
  • Confirm the player started the job on the server, then clear that state so a reward cannot be claimed twice.
  • Check distance to a valid location and cap the amount or item count.
  • Treat client-side checks as a bonus, since the guide notes they can easily be overridden.

Frameworks give you hooks: QBCore and ESX money functions accept a reason you should always pass, and ox_inventory server hooks can cancel a swap or block a purchase. Per-framework detail lives in FiveM anticheat for QBCore, ESX and Qbox. Where your scripts allow it, test sv_stateBagStrictMode.

On the anticheat side, look for protection of the trigger layer. FairShieldAC encrypts and shuffles event triggers to stop server-event spoofing and whitelists vehicle-spawn scripts; the 2026 FiveM anticheat updates list the dates. None of it validates your handler logic. The server-side vs client-side breakdown explains why both layers exist.

Why a false positive costs a roleplay server more

On a public freeroam server, a wrongful ban loses one anonymous player. On a whitelisted RP server it can remove someone who passed an application, built a character history and sits in the middle of storylines other players depend on. The rest of the community watches how staff handle it.

Legitimate RP scripts can also look suspicious to a strict detection: doors and interiors that teleport players, garages that spawn vehicles, character creators that move the camera, custom maps and MLOs. Staff add noise too, since txAdmin's in-game menu includes "Player Mode: NoClip, God, SuperJump" (txAdmin repository).

Look for a FiveM anticheat with whitelists for coordinates, props and scripts, staff exemptions tied to permissions, and a response policy you control: automatic action only on high-confidence detections, staff review for ambiguous behavioural flags. FairShieldAC supports whitelisted coordinates for its anti-teleport check and whitelist ACE permissions, and its changelog logs false-ban fixes publicly, most recently "Fixed Anti Noclip (False ban on custom maps)" (3 September 2026). Expect that openness from any vendor. Causes and appeals are covered in false positives and fair appeals.

Is a whitelist enough to keep ban evaders off a FiveM RP server?

No. A whitelist filters drive-by cheaters, but approved players can still cheat, and banned players can reapply on a fresh Discord account. txAdmin's player-facing allowlist modes each check one identifier: "Discord Server Member" and "Discord Server Roles" use discord:, while "Approved License" uses license:. Those modes decide who may join. Linking a new application to an old ban is a separate job.

That job means linking identifiers. FiveM exposes steam, discord, license, license2, fivem and ip identifiers (GetPlayerIdentifiers), plus player tokens that "can be used to enhance banning logic, however are specific to a server" (native declaration). Hardware matching needs care: txAdmin warns that "Hardware ID Tokens are not guaranteed to be unique" (ban settings). HWID bans explained covers the mechanics.

On an RP server, the FiveM anti cheat you pick should offer bans that span identifiers and servers, checked at connect, plus a way to research applicants. FairShieldAC's global ban network links HWID, IP, Steam and Discord identifiers, carries bans across servers and screens players at connect. Members Lookup, included in every plan, is the manual half: a web tool admins use to pre-screen a player before the whitelist interview. Treat every hit as a prompt to look closer. Shared connections can have innocent explanations, and VPN blocking ("Add anti vpn", 7 February 2026) can catch legitimate players.

What evidence should staff have before banning an RP player?

Enough that another staff member, or the player on appeal, could reach the same conclusion. A ban with nothing behind it wears down a whitelist community's trust in staff. A usable evidence pack contains:

  • The detection or report reason, with a timestamp
  • The player's identifiers at the time of the incident
  • A screenshot or screen capture where one was taken
  • Server and detection logs around the incident, including connections
  • Prior warnings, notes and bans on that player

txAdmin covers part of this with warnings, bans, player notes, action logging and an admin permission system, and its logs documentation confirms that "player warn/ban/whitelist actions are not just stored in the Admin Logs, but also on the players database." Use its Ban Rejection Message to point players to your appeal process. The anticheat should add detection-side evidence. FairShieldAC provides a real-time dashboard, screenshot verification, OCR detection and Discord webhook alerts, and its changelog adds an activity logs page on the website panel and "Add /history userid: (discord bot)" (28 May 2026). See the cheater report workflow and what an anticheat does versus txAdmin.

How do you keep roleplay scenes alive through crashers and event spam?

Split it into two problems. A crasher abuses what a connected client can send, while a DDoS floods your network from outside. Our crasher explainer covers the difference, and for network floods FairShieldAC's Gravity DDoS protection absorbs volumetric and application-layer attacks upstream.

The full setup is in our anti-crasher guide; the server-side controls RP owners reach for first, per the server commands reference, are:

  • sv_entityLockdown limits client-created entities. Test strict mode on staging first, because scripts that spawn entities client-side will break.
  • sv_enableNetworkedSounds can stop clients routing networked sound events, which the docs call "commonly used by malicious actors."
  • With OneSync, a server explosionEvent handler can rate-limit or block bad explosions, per a 2019 cookbook entry that notes newer information may exist.

From the anticheat, look for crasher, explosion and entity controls that act mid-scene and leave logs you can review. FairShieldAC ships anti-crasher modules, and its changelog lists "Add Anti Explosion Spam for 7, 8, 10" (6 January 2026). txAdmin's server log also records explosions, for reconstructing a disrupted scene.

FiveM roleplay anticheat FAQ

Does a roleplay server need a different FiveM anticheat than a PvP server?

Usually the same kind of product, configured with different priorities. PvP servers weight aim and combat cheats most. A roleplay server should weight economy and event protection, staff evidence, script whitelists and ban-evader screening at least as highly, because exploits and wrongful bans leave lasting marks on a saved world.

Should a roleplay server auto-ban on every anticheat detection?

No. Reserve automatic bans for high-confidence detections and send behavioural or ambiguous flags to staff with evidence attached. On a whitelist server a wrongful ban costs a trusted player and community goodwill, so a short review delay is usually the better trade. Put your appeal path in the ban message.

Can an anticheat stop money duplication on a roleplay server?

It can reduce it. Trigger protection makes abused events harder to fire and spawn blocking stops some weapon and vehicle abuse, but duplication often comes from a handler that trusts client input. Your own scripts must still verify amount, job, state and location on the server before paying out.

Is FiveM RP server protection the same as an anticheat?

People usually mean two different things by that phrase. FiveM RP server protection often means DDoS defence upstream of the game server, while an anticheat handles players and events inside the session. A roleplay server generally benefits from both, plus hardened convars and validated scripts.

Next step: turn the table into your RP server's checklist
